The breed
A medium-sized gray spitz with upright ears and a tightly curled tail, bred in Norway to hunt moose.
Norway’s moose dog
The Norwegian Elkhound is among Europe’s oldest breeds. Its work is to track moose and other big game for hours across rough country, then hold the animal at bay with its bark until the hunter arrives.
That history shows in the dog you meet today: bold, energetic, and independent, yet normally friendly.
